Jinan is known as the “City of Springs” and to its south lies Mount Tai. The south-high and north-low terrain naturally causes the groundwater to flow towards the low-lying Jinan. When passing through this ancient city, the groundwater encounters the block of thick rock mass. Under the great pressure, the groundwater sprouts out of the rock mass, forming the Baotu Spring, which is rated as the “Finest Spring under Heaven”. On International Working Women’s Day in 2006, the complex building of Sunshine Sisters covering an area of 2,600 square meters rose from the ground. People were in high spirits, shuttling in and out of the new floor-to-ceiling swing door with care because the ground was so smooth.
