Born in Beijing, Li Ju is a freelance photographer and writer and a member of the China Great Wall Society. During his travels, he has undertaken much research and study into a variety of historical images. In recent years, he became dedicated to exploring the locations of the scenes in old photographs, and retaking them in the areas of the Great Wall and the Loess Plateau in northwestern China. · In July, 2009, his photography exhibition "A Glimpse of the Western United States" was held in the Canon Gallery, Beijing · In September, 2009, his photo "Yangguan Pass" won the Gold Award in the first "Photography Competition of the Great Wall" · In December, 2009, the photo exhibition "One Century & One Moment" including his photographic work, was held by the Beijing Folk Museum, Ningxia Library and Shanghai Library · From August to December 2009, following his exploration, a four-episode documentary "Through Shaanxi and Gansu" was produced by the "Witness ~ Discovery" program of CCTV; it was premiered on CCTV-1 and later rebroadcast on CCTV-4 and CCTV-documentary channels · In April, 2010, invited by the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, systematically researched, organized and explored historical information about the Clark expedition · In July, 2010, published the article "One Century Encounter with Through Shen-Kan" in the Chinese National Geography · From August 9-11, 2010, three episodes of the TV program "Retracing the Journey to Shaanxi and Gansu" which were based on his interviews with the "Impression of Ningxia" program broadcasted by Ningxia TV · In September, 2010, jointly organized and displayed photographs in the exhibition "Passing through Shaanxi and Gansu" in Wuhan Museum
