Wang Xuewen, Ph.D. in folklore studies,graduated from Beijing Normal Universityand is now an associate research fellow atthe Center for Ethnic & Folk Literature & ArtDevelopment, Ministry of Culture, PRC and adeputy director of the editorial department ofChinese Festival Annals, a major projectentrusted by the National Social ScienceFund of China. His main research directionsare theory and practice of festival culture andcultural heritage protection. He publishedRestriction and Sharing, a monograph, andseveral essays in Journal of Chinese Ritual,Theatre and Folklore (Taiwan), Folklore Stud-ies, Shandong Social Sciences and otherperiodicals.
