作者简介

Edmondo De Amicis (1846-1908) was anItalian novelist, journalist, short story writer andpoet. He studied in a military school when he was 16 years old, and then became an army officer inthe new Kingdom of Italy. He fought in the battleof Custoza during the Third Independence War. In1868, he published his first work La vita militate(Military Army) and thus gained great fame. Hetravelled around the world and wrote a lot oftravelogues. He also wrote quite a few worksabout society. Of course, Cuore is his best knownwork.
